SHABBAT ANTHOLOGY VOLUME IX - CALL FOR MUSIC SUBMISSIONS
Transcontinental Music Publications (TMP), a division of the American Conference of Cantors (ACC), is proud to announce open submissions for the latest in our bestselling songbook series, SHABBAT ANTHOLOGY.
We invite composers to submit new musical settings of Shabbat texts for consideration for Shabbat Anthology Volume IX (SA9). This anthology collection (with eight previous volumes) presents the latest Shabbat music from composers throughout the Jewish music world, in piano-vocal-guitar and lead sheet formats, along with a resource recording.
Selected pieces will be included in the anthology, to be published in Spring or Summer 2018. Selections for SA9 will be chosen by a committee assembled by TMP.
ALL submissions must be made using this form. **Submit one form per song, with a maximum of three submitted works**. Mail-in submissions will NOT be accepted.
**SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL MONDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2017**
Submissions are reviewed by an executive editorial committee and a separate publications review committee, who will review music from which the composer's name and identifying marks have been removed, for complete anonymity.
You will receive an email from us in the months following the deadline regarding whether or not your music has been accepted. Due to the volume of submissions that we receive, we are not be able to respond to inquiries about submission status or reasons for our decisions.
- Sheet music in PDF form is required. A recording is not required, but is encouraged (in mp3 format only, please). Our committees review a considerable amount of music and a recording can help set your music apart.
- Texts must be related to a Jewish subject, or from or adapted from accepted Jewish texts. If you have set music to liturgy, the text must be compliant with Mishkan T'filah (the Reform prayer book, published by the CCAR Press), OR the text must be original to the composer and/or lyricist submitting.
- You may submit up to three works. A piano accompaniment is strongly encouraged but not required.
