New ACC Executive Board Members Elected for 2017-20 Term

Schaumburg, IL -- The ACC is pleased to announce the election of a new slate of Executive Board Members whose term runs from 2017-2020. Overseen by the ACC Nominations Committee, voting was open to all ACC regular members in good standing.

“We are so pleased to welcome in both new and re-elected Executive Board Members,” said ACC President Cantor Steven Weiss. “It is thanks to the commitment and dedication of our Executive Board that the ACC is able to serve our larger ACC community. I look forward to working together to bring positive change to the Reform cantorate.”

Cantor Erin R. Frankel, ordained by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music in 2003, has served on the ACC board in several capacities. In addition to chairing the ACC-GTM 2016 Philadelphia convention, she serves on the Placement Advisory Group.

As a long-standing member of the communication committee, Cantor Penny Kessler also serves as the co-chair of the ACC’s Hadracha mentoring committee, which helps new members of the Conference to be successful in their positions. She also serves on the Y'did Nefesh and Ethics and Appeals committees and is a past ACC representative to URJ's Commission on Social Action.

Cantor Rachel Gottlieb Kalmowitz, who was among the first cohort to have graduated from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion's Cantorial Certification program in 2016, joins the ACC Executive Board after serving as one of four co-chairs for the 2011 ACC/GTM Convention. 

Cantor Leigh Korn, ordained from the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion School of Sacred Music in 2005, is an active member of the ACC. In addition to serving on the Executive Board, he conducted the Delegates' Choir at the Union for Reform Judaism Biennial Convention in Toronto in 2009; chaired t'filah at the Portland convention and chaired concerts at conventions in San Francisco, Israel and Philadelphia. Leigh is also the chair of the Transcontinental Music Publications committee.

Cantor David Reinwald was ordained by the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in 2006.  He has served on various committees for the ACC, and is presently the West Coast chair of membership testing and the chair of the Membership Exam Task Force, which is overseeing improvements to the exam and exam process.

Cantor David Rosen   was ordained from the Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music at the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion in 2003. He has been an active member of the ACC Executive Board since 2010,  and is is currently co-chairing the 2017 ACC-GTM Las Vegas Convention. He also serves on the ethics and nominating committees. 

The voting process was done in accordance with Article 1, Section 2 of the ACC Bylaws.
