Reform Wedding Officiation Network Information Session

A partnership between the URJ, CCAR and ACC, the network will connect couples across North America with Reform clergy and congregations.

Marriage is one of the most powerful opportunities for building bridges to the Jewish community, and our rabbis and cantors are expert bridge-builders. With your participation, we will connect couples with members of the ACC and CCAR for wedding officiation and deeper Jewish engagement. We deeply believe that that the process of couples getting to know a rabbi or cantor during the weeks and months leading up to their wedding can be an influential introduction to meaningful engagement with Judaism, and Reform Judaism specifically. For some wedding partners, this may be their first formal entry into Jewish life as an adult.

Collectively, we will welcome thousands of couples into Jewish conversations each year. In 2019, two communities will serve as pilots for this initiative: Atlanta and Phoenix. As we build a North American wide network of clergy officiants, we will learn important lessons from these pilot launches.

We are grateful to the members of the task force who helped shape the initiative, including clergy, professional, and lay leaders from the CCAR, ACC, HUC-JIR and URJ, and to the Board of the CCAR for their extensive input.
