MARRA B. GAD: THE COLOR OF LOVE, A STORY OF A MIXED-RACE JEWISH GIRL

A conversation with Cantor Kerith Spencer-Shapiro and Marra B. Gad addressing racial equality and racial justice in North America as a Jewish issue. Marra’s personal journey is reflected in her memoire, The Color of Love, which they will also discuss. In black spaces, she was not “black enough.” In Jewish spaces, she was mistaken for the help, asked to leave, or worse. Even in her own extended family, racism bubbled to the surface. Join Marra and Kerith for this conversation and Q&A session, which, in our current climate, is timelier than ever. Reading Marra’s book prior to joining the conversation will enable you as a participant to have a greater takeaway from this program.

The following preview may be shared with clergy partners and core committee members from ACC and GTM members' congregations. The full video has been disseminated to ACC and GTM members by closed link and is not for distribution.

This session and discussion was very much geared toward ACC and GTM members. Marra would be happy to work with you to have a discussion with you, your congregation, and your community. For information on bringing her to your community, please reach out to Murray Weiss for assistance. His contact information is below.

We ask that you respect her request.
