CCPD Program on Libi B'Mizrach Volume III

-

Walk through the compositions of Libi M'Mizrach Volume III with Cantor Galit Dadoun Cohen and Cantor David Berger.

Libi B’Mizrach Volume III: Music of Progressive Israeli T'filah collects the incredible music of Israel’s dynamic progressive minyanim, communities, songwriters, and composers. To Western ears, Jewish liturgy, prayers, blessings, and piyutim (liturgical poems) are most purely expressed through the tongue of a native Hebrew speaker. These original Israeli melodies and pan-Sephardic piyutim come straight from the source, with nothing lost in translation. Until Libi B'Mizrach, many of these songs were inaccessible or unavailable to those for whom Hebrew is a supplementary language. Now these beautiful, engaging melodies are presented in a concise, practical format with highly detailed accuracy. A full accompanying audio album featuring the original artists’ recordings is included!
Volume III is a diverse volume of forty songs (including several major Israeli hits, popular piyutim, and impassioned new music from Israel’s dynamic progressive communities), most published in the West for the first time. Including the songs of major Israeli artists Chanan Ben Ari, Aya Korem, Miri Mesika, Maureen Nehedar, Tandu, Yonina, Ariel Zurayev, and popular piyut melodies from Iraq, Israel, Morocco, and numerous Sephardic communities. 8.5" x 11" paperback with audio download code on bind-in card [physical] or zip file containing PDF songbook and individual PDFs plus audio files [digital], 120 pages including indexes, front matter, and fascinating information on the Libi B'Mizrach songwriters and communities.
