Oct 7 2013 - 9:00am
Oct 8 2013 - 3:00pm

October 7-8, 2013,
Congregation Rodeph Shalom, New York City

Registration Deadline Extended to September 23!

Registration costs: $180 (this does not include transportation, lodging or meals.  Light refreshments/snacks will be available.)

This is a unique opportunity for ACC and CCAR members to engage in worship exploration for today's Jewish community, thereby developing habits of reflection, innovation and intentionality.  If possible, please plan to attend with your clergy team.  The program will include workshops, presentations, small group work, plus a little time to enjoy NY and colleagues.

Together, we will:

  • Explore our inner neshama in worship to nurture and sustain ourselves
  • Deepen thinking about and enhance skill sets related to the role of the sh’liach tzibur to move and energize participants in worship through exploration of music, theology, belief, narrative, spirituality, liturgy and innovation/creativity.
  • Develop habits of intentionality and planning related to worship in formal and informal settings.
  • Consider how to foster habits of reflection on worship opportunities we experience and lead.
  • Consider how to assess a community's expectations/hopes/for prayer and worship (energizing? reflective? child oriented?)
  • Try out innovative approaches to the machzor, to family, tot, festival and Shabbat worship services, including Visual T'filah and Mishkan T’filah apps.
